Hard Surface Modeling: 1956 Bel Air

Modeled this for Max Dayan's Hard Surface II class at Gnomon. Pretty happy with how it came out! It's based on my dad's car (pictured below). I still have some finishing touches to work on but it was nice to work on the texturing.

3D Texture Midterm

Textured a prop for the character I'm working on. I hope the character turns out as good if not better! Thanks to Eric Miller for the helpful critique!

Edit: Here's a quick video render of the opening blades.

Character Modeling Class Concepts

These are concepts I painted in preparation for Mark Dedecker's Character Modeling class.
This first one I'll work on for the actual class. The one below I'll work on on my own if time permits. We'll see how much work my other classes end up being. Both characters are re-imagined from characters I worked on in college.
It will be a couple more weeks until we actually start modeling, but I'm really looking forward to it!

Gnomon Lighting & Rendering/Dynamics Final: Ruined tunnel

I'm really happy with how this came out. My instructors gave me great feedback and it really came a long way.

Gnomon Match Moving and Integration Final

Now that it's all said and done, I don't think match-moving is my thing, but this project was still fun to work on and I still find it entertaining as cheesy as it is! The robot was super fun to rig and animate, I might detail him out more and use him again in the future.

Advanced Digital Painting Production Illustration part 1

I have been so happy with the results I've been getting in this class. The teacher really broke painting down into a science and for the first time in a long time I feel really confident. Color version is due Thursday so expect to see it soon!

Advanced Digital Painting Environment: Color Version

Pretty happy with how this turned out! Makes me want to do more environments!

Advanced Digital Painting Environment

I'm really happy with how this came out and Hugo seemed really impressed with it. I blocked out a basic model and painted over it, used a few photos for texture and viola!I really love the cinematic feel of it. I'm looking forward to doing more paintings using this technique!

Week 1 in Advanced Digital Painting

I know I've designed and redesigned AND redesigned this poor character's helmet, but I think Ive finally settled on a design. It's week 1 in advanced digital painting so the instructor is just looking to assess our abilities at this point, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out and look forward to learning more and getting better! As for the design, my intention is for the shield over his face to open revealing a glass cover... as I hope is obvious! It's going to be fun to model and rig!

Lighting and Rendering Final

This final really came together quickly. At first I wasn't feeling it but in the end I wish I'd been able to devote more time to it! I did get some good feedback though so maybe I'll keep on truckin' with it.

Here's an Ambient Occlusion pass of it. I just think these things look awesome!

TOP FUN!

It's been TOO LONG since I've posted anything... but while working on my finals I figured out how to render more efficiently with after effects so I rendered out my final from last term again.

Not SUPER proud of it, but it was a good learning experience and I had a lot of fun with it. Kinda got sick of the song... OH WAIT... NEVER THAT!

Alex as a creature!

We had to design creature makeup for Production Design 2 using photobashing techniques. Here's a creature I made out of my friend Alex.
His request was that I make him into something real cute. He was a little disappointed... but I dunno... kinda cute!

Production Design: Heroes

Just finished this up today. We're doing the villains next. Diggin this technique though!
